Strategic Mailing Partnership announces relaunch as Strategic Mailing Partnership: The Mailmakers

The SMP has officially relaunched as Strategic Mailing Partnership: The Mailmakers.

The SMP is now sponsored by Royal Mail Wholesale under the leadership of Jenny Ledgar, Director of Network Access at Royal Mail.

The SMP is already the largest group in the UK of mail and print suppliers and service providers. Our members – known as ‘The Mailmakers’ – belong to the only known specialist supply chain network in Post in Europe.

The SMP is currently made up of over 150-member Mailing Houses across the UK. Through our work, the SMP ensures that the specialist skillsets and knowledge of its members are made visible to Royal Mail. This enables Royal Mail to achieve a consultative approach to its product, operational and market development.

Judith Donovan CBE, Chair of the Strategic Mailing Partnership, said: “Since the SMP launched in 2008, it has reset the clock on the way the Mailing House sector and Royal Mail engage with each other, for the better of the industry.  The engagement of Royal Mail Wholesale will reinforce and cement this vital strategic relationship.”

Jenny Ledgar, Director of Network Access, Royal Mail added: “I am delighted to be part of the SMP again. I believe that those working in the mail supply chain have a critical role to play in ensuring our customers get a great service and value for money from their investment.
