In the news: ‘Firms more worried about World Cup effect than GDPR’

SMP Chair, Judith Donovan CBE, gives her views on GDPR, the new additions to the SMP Board – and how the World Cup would impact upon the sector.

Speaking to PrintWeek, our Chair chatted exclusively to journalist, Jez Abbott, about the introduction of four Board members in Alistair Ezzy, Chris Hughes, Kerry Holden and Rob Alonso.

She told Jez that the board was raised from 10 to 14 members to “widen the type of representation”, but focus on smaller mailing houses.

And as the SMP work on a code with the Trading Standards on the issue of scam mailers, Judith also provided comment on how GDPR was impacting upon the industry – and in fact, many were picking up more recommissioning emails.

She went on to explain why the World Cup would have more of an effect on mailing houses than GDPR. Here’s what she said in PrintWeek

And, here’s DecisionMarketing’s take following Judith’s comments.
