SMP members have the chance to broaden their workforce’s skills and gain professional qualifications – either for free or at a significantly reduced rate.
The SMP has teamed up with Royal Mail and the IDM to offer a range of online courses, ranging from bite-size tasters that take a few hours to complete to in-depth training to achieve the IDM Award in Direct Mail. It’s also a great opportunity to refresh knowledge and skills as part of an ongoing training programme.
Some of the courses on offer are free while others are available at the significantly reduced rate of just £50. Modules can be completed over a 12-month period, providing flexibility to dip in and out of training when work commitments allow.
Research[*] shows that training is one of the areas hardest hit by the pandemic, with around half of face-to-face training sessions cancelled during the first lockdown. But with many looking to broaden their skills throughout the early part of this year, online training is becoming ever more popular.
There are five courses available, from entry level to advanced training:
